Happy 13th Day!

See my earlier posts to learn all about my love of the number 13...you can check out my first post from May 2005 and another post from September 2005 to learn more about me and that fantastical number...

So, just a quick post to wish you a Happy 13th day. Apparently, this year, Friday the 13th will raise it's head 3 times. The horror movie genre has tried to hijack the number 13 since long ago. In fact, this year they have re-made the movie "Friday the 13th" and released it one day before Valentine's Day. I don't get it....why would I want to take my sweetheart out on a date to see a slasher movie?

Life keeps chugging along here in SoCal...we have had quite a bit of rain in the last week or so. Typically we would have been quite busy with baseball and softball practices, but the rain has swamped the fields. Even though we will be busy with games or practices almost every day starting in March and going through June, I just love this time of year. As Winter turns to Spring, our apricot tree in the backyard begins to bloom with vibrant flowers that then turn into an overabundance of fruit. It is an amazing representation of God's creation.

I am also excited about the fact that baseball pitchers and catchers report to their respective Spring Training camps this weekend. It brings back great memories of freshly cut grass, the smack of the bat on the ball and the excitement of getting ready for the first big game. There isn't much hope for my beloved Padres this year, but I will continue to root them on. The most fun will be watching my kids out on the field, playing their own games. Hopefully, they will have as much fun as I do!
