Lumpy's Trip to D-Land

It had to come out sooner or later....the Mazza's are Disney FREAKS!

We love everything Disney. In fact, we try to use tax refund money each year to buy annual passes to Disneyland for the family. Our favorite trips each year include staying a night in a nearby hotel and going to Disneyland and California Adventure on back to back days.

This year, Paula and I have gone by ourselves once and we have also taken the family. To make each trip special for the kids, we try to take them one-on-one. My turn was first this year and I took Emily with me. My nickname for Emily is Lumpy. She earned this name as an infant when she would sit on my lap and watch baseball games. She never fussed or cried, she just sat there like a lump on a log. I miss those days....

Anyway, this past Sunday, Emily and I went up to Anaheim for the day. It only took us about 70 minutes to drive there and arrived at 8 AM just as Disneyland was opening. To make the trip more enjoyable, Emily and I planned out what rides we wanted to go on and made a priority list. It sure did help, we knew exactly where we wanted to go. Of course, we did have to make some adjustments along the way and we did not get to ride everything on our list, but we sure had fun!

Some highlights of the trip included waiting only 15 minutes for the Indiana Jones Adventure; waiting 3 minutes for Pirates of the Carribean; Emily's first ride on California Screamin', Maliboomer, and Orange Stinger; autographs from Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Rabbit, Woody, Jessie, and Mulan; the Alladin show; Tower of Terror (woohoo!); pizza at Pizza Oom Mow Mow; Soarin' Over California; pirrahna's on the Jungle Cruise; caves at Tom Sawyer's Island; the Block Party Bash; the Parade of Dreams; Tinkerbell flying over the castle; Mickey climbing the Matterhorn; Fantasmic; and fireworks. Whew, what a trip! Thanks, Lumpy, for a fun time. You are a great Disney partner!

Check out Emily's photo album and watch the slideshow of her trip to Disneyland.
